Companies of all size and sectors can be at the top or bottom of the ranking
Small to large companies spread all over the ranking
(the bigger the circle, the larger the company)
How does it look for some most represented sectors ?
Changing a lot from a ranking to another you think ? We will dig more into that just after
What the average company diversity look like ?
based on the 100+ studied companies
Proportion of asian, black, latix, others
Proportion of women
Compared to America Population demographics
But this view have some limits looking at women of colors and representation across position.
When we loose diversity on the way to tech and leadership teams, and the missing women of color
What we don't clearly see here :
- The double penalty of not being white AND a women : what are the percentage of women of color in companies ?
- Diversity in technical of leadership is usually less than overall : how the diversity change across positions ?
Let's introduce a new representation to better visualize those two information, with the average company data.
For each role and overall we compute the % of non-white people (asian, black, latinx, other) relative to the role, women, and women of color (non white wowen) to better see their representation evolution across those positions
To better visualize women of color and evolution across position, I did supress here the race details, refer to dear tech people website or data for more detail or race repartition
